The 2022 champions will start their campaign under a new captain after they lost their talismanic captain Hardik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians post the IPL auction. Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, Gujarat had claimed the title in their inaugural season and had reached the final last time around, where they had lost to the Chennai Super Kings.

Shubman Gill will lead the team in this year's campaign. Gill had a sensational season with the bat during IPL 2023, scoring 890 runs with three centuries. However, they have suffered another big blow after their leading wicket-taker Mohammed Shami has been ruled out due to injury. The 33-year-old Shami said that he underwent a right Achilles tendon surgery in London at the end of February. This means that Shami, the bowling spearhead of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, is likely to miss the upcoming season. The availability of Rashid Khan is also a big question for the Titans.

Gujarat Titans will take on Mumbai Indians in their Indian Premier League 2024 opener on March 24 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where they will be playing all their home matches.
