IPL 2024 Teams

With a total of 10 teams in title contention, IPL 2024 will be played in a double round-robin format. Hence, each team will face all the other nine teams two times during the league stage. In the end, the top four teams in the IPL points table will qualify for IPL playoffs.
The league this year will start from March 22 with CSK taking on RCB. However, due to the general elections also being held this year, it was decided that the schedule for IPL 2024 will be announced in batches.

Delhi Capitals will be looking forward to welcoming back their inspirational captain Rishabh Pant, who has been sidelined for over a year after being involved in a horrific car accident.

A lot of attention in the season will also be centred on Hardik Pandya, who will assume charge at the Mumbai Indians, a franchise where he played a role in multiple title-winning seasons before leaving for the Gujarat Titans. In two seasons at Gujarat, he took them to the final twice and helped them emerge champions in the first season. Pandya’s elevation means Rohit Sharma will step aside as captain for MI.

To fill the void left behind by Pandya, Gujarat have made Shubman Gill their captain.

There will also be a lot of focus on the Chennai Super Kings, since this will be one of the last seasons that talisman Mahendra Singh Dhoni takes centrestage for the team.

And, of course, one of the biggest questions on everyone’s minds will be whether this is the season that Royal Challengers Bangalore finally end their luckless run and win the IPL trophy?
