In the morning (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

Explore the Architectural Gems of Ahmedabad: Start your day with a walk through the historic walled city of Ahmedabad. Here, you’ll find some stunning architectural marvels, including the Sidi Sayed Mosque, renowned for its intricate latticework windows, and the Jama Masjid, built in the 14th century by Ahmed Shah I — the founder of Ahmedabad, also lending his name to the vibrant city.

Tip: If you’re short on time, hire a rickshaw to take you around the old city. This is a great way to see the sights and experience the local culture.

Festive offer

Indulge in a Gujarati Thali: No trip to Gujarat is complete without trying a traditional Gujarati thali. A thali is a large platter of various dishes, typically including rice, dal (lentils), vegetables, roti (flatbread), and papad (crispy lentil wafers). Head to a local restaurant for an authentic and delicious Gujarati thali experience.

On a year-on-year basis, however, the cost of veg thali was marginally down by 1 per cent in September, while the non-veg thali was marginally up by 0.65 per cent due to high wheat and palm oil prices, the report said. A thali is an Indian-style meal made up of a selection of various dishes, vegetarian or non-vegetarian. (File image)

In the afternoon (12:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

Take a Stroll Along the Sabarmati Riverfront: Take a relaxing stroll along the Sabarmati Riverfront. This beautiful promenade is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. You can enjoy the views of the river, take a boat ride, or visit the Sabarmati Ashram, the former residence of Mahatma Gandhi.

Experience the Bustling Nightlife: Ahmedabad has a surprisingly vibrant nightlife scene. For a truly unique experience, head to Law Garden, a popular spot for street food vendors and local musicians. If you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, there are also a number of rooftop bars and nightclubs in the city.

Tip: Be sure to bargain with the street food vendors at Law Garden to get the best prices.

Witness the Dazzling Garba: The heart of the action lies in the numerous party plots across the city. These open-air venues host grand Garba nights with energetic music, colourful lighting, and enthusiastic crowds. Purchase passes online or at the venue to join the revelry.

If you have a little extra time, you could also visit the Calico Museum of Textiles, one of the finest textile museums in India.
