Mumbai court directs police to investigate molestation allegations against Prithvi Shaw dating back to 2023

Earlier last year, Gill had raised charges against Shaw for molesting her at a suburban Andheri pub. Shaw however, denied all the charges made against him. The social media influencer, who was arrested in February 2023 for attacking Shaw following an argument regarding clicking selfies, is currently out on bail.

In her complaint against Shaw, Gill sought registration of an FIR under IPC sections 354 (molestation), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) against Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav for assaulting her with bat.

Claiming that the police didn’t issue an FIR against Shaw, Gill had moved to magistrate court to register a case against the Mumbai based cricketer. The police however, would tell the court that Gill’s allegations against Shaw were “falls and unfounded”, adding that Gill – present alongside a friend – during the said moment were drunk at the time.

Shaw is currently part of the Delhi Capitals IPL 2024 squad. In his first appearance for the franchise this season, the 24-year-old scored a quickfire 43 off 27 deliveries. An innings laced with four fours and two sixes.
