The “real life” Bade Miyan and Chote Miyan, father-son producer duo Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, seem to be quite confident about their film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the title roles, the big-budget action film is set to be released in theatres this Eid, on April 10.
In a video that is being widely shared on social media, Vashu Bhagnani is heard saying that he is convinced that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will earn Rs 1100 crore at the box office. The last film to rake in such huge numbers was Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. SRK’s first film of 2023, Pathaan, also made over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. Vashu Bhagnani appeared to be predicting that his movie will outgross both SRK-starrers.
In the video, Jackky introduces himself and his father Vashu as the “real life Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” Responding to Jackky, Vashu says, “Rs 1100 crore confirmed hai worldwide.” Reacting to his father’s confidence, Jackky says, “tathastu (amen)!” Watch here:

While the Hindi film industry had been going through a rough patch ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, SRK’s Pathaan, and his subsequent release Jawan, reinvigorated the struggling film industry. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was also one of the highest earning films last year, as it raked in Rs 900 crore worldwide.
However, the last two films released by the Bhagnanis’ Pooja Entertainment — Mission Raniganj and Ganapath — were both box office duds.
Bade Miyan Chote Miya director Ali Abbas Zafar recently opened up about the huge budget of the film, in an interview with indianexpress.com. He called Bade Miyan Chote Miyan “very ambitious” as it is reportedly mounted on a humongous budget of Rs 350 crore. He said that films that are mounted on such huge budgets also put a lot of pressure on him as a filmmaker and the star-cast.
Talking about the pressure, he said, “Budget is the biggest pressure that the actors and the makers of the film always feel because today when you want your product to look international, classy and at a level where people say it’s a visual spectacle, you need to spend that much money. If you want to do bike stunts and each bike costs Rs 4 lakh and if the stunt goes wrong, your immediately lose Rs 4 lakh. If you are blowing up a car which is worth Rs 30-40 lakh and if the stunt doesn’t go as planned, straightaway lose that much money. There are stunts in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan where the spend on one day was Rs 3-4 crores — with all the paraphernalia and all the technicians of all the choppers — everything together was very expensive.”
Along with Akshay and Tiger, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) fame Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F.
