As Sunita delivers CM’s message to AAP MLAs, BJP slams party over his photo beside freedom fighters

“Whatever issues they are facing should be taken care of — and I am not talking just about issues related to government departments, we also have to try and solve other issues being faced by people. The 2 crore people of Delhi are my family, not even a single member of my family should face any kind of problem,” she added, quoting her husband.

Accusing the AAP of hurting sentiments of the people, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that the the political party “should be ashamed of itself for putting up Kejriwal’s photos between those of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh and Dr B R Ambedkar”, demanding that it be immediately removed.

“AAP should stop hurting the sentiments of people by putting up Arvind Kejriwal’s photos amidst patriots… AAP has been constantly degrading the political decorum by allowing the jailed CM’s wife Smt Sunita Kejriwal to sit and issue political messages from the official room and chair of the Delhi Chief Minister,” said Sachdeva. “Kejriwal is a corruption accused, and by putting up his photo between those of patriots like Shaheed e Azam and Dr Ambedkar, AAP has insulted the dignity of the great patriots.”

It has been a fortnight since Kejriwal was taken into custody and later placed under arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi liquor policy case. Sunita has addressed the public via video messages on several occasions since Kejriwal’s arrest.
