Shark Tank India Season 3’s last episode aired recently and it saw some amazing pitches. However, one of the pitches that didn’t materialize was from two young engineers who brought to the tank a smart-mop called Caspian. As they shared details of their products, Namita Thapar jokingly asked Anupam Mittal if he would want to take the demo and mop the floor. She also called Anupam the most enthusiastic Shark when it comes to taking product demos. Vineeta Singh also jokingly asked the pitchers to make the floor as dirty as they could. Anupam too sportingly took on the challenge and tested the smart mop.
The young engineers from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore pitched their product that would make the household chore of mopping the floor an easy task. For the same, they asked for an investment of Rs 15 lakhs for 1 percent equity. The pitchers shared that they left the idea of working on space tech and rather opted to build this product. However, the pitchers failed to impress the Sharks who questioned the usability as well as the weight of the product.
Being the first one to opt out of the deal, Namita expressed her concerns about the product and said, “You both are very smart kids at 24, my strong advice to you is to discontinue this and use your engineering skills in something else. There is nothing smart about this product, you have not thought it through. As a product, this doesn’t offer anything special or new.” While Vineeta questioned the sensors in the product, she also backed out from the pitch, stating that she felt the founders were still not ready for fund-raising. She also said, “Market ko lekar bilkul khoye hue hai aap. (You both seem very lost in terms of the market).”

Anupam Mittal also called the product “over-engineered” turning down the offer. Azhar Iqubal also called the product a misfit, while Aman Gupta asked them if they planned to make anything else. While the pitchers said that they would focus on this product, Aman backed out saying, “This is not a problem I feel is to be solved. But if you make anything next, do keep me in mind.”
With this, the pitchers walked out empty-handed from Shark Tank India.
