A middle-aged tribal woman, identified as Sridevi Noatia from Kathalia village in Sepahijala district, located 85 kilometers from Agartala, was critically injured in a terrifying encounter with a bison on Monday.

According to reports, the victim’s husband, Laxmi Pada Noatia, a daily laborer, recounted the harrowing incident, stating that the bison had been spotted roaming in nearby agricultural fields over the past two days. As Sridevi Noatia was returning home after collecting firewood from a nearby rubber plantation, the bison attacked her, leaving her severely wounded, particularly in the chest area.

Upon receiving initial medical attention at the district hospital, it became apparent that her condition was grave, prompting medical authorities to refer her to the Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital for further treatment.
