The 32-year-old manager of Bandhan Bank’s Kapodara branch in Surat was found hanging at his house on Wednesday night. The police said a purported suicide note has been recovered in which the deceased has stated that he made a mistake that affected his family.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Navpariya. He was unmarried and stayed with his parents and elder brother’s family, said police. “The incident came to light when his brother broke open the door of Rakesh’s room and found him hanging,” said a police officer.
The Kapodara police said the suicide note found on Navpariya stated that he was depressed and thus was taking such a step. “I made a mistake, which has affected all of you,” he wrote, adding that he has Rs 20-lakh insurance cover with Bandhan Bank as well HDFC home loan and SBI insurance covers.
Kapodara police Inspector M B Asura said, “We have spoken to Navpariya’s colleagues, friends and family members but not received any clues. We have now sought details of his cellphone’s call data record, which may help us in the investigation.”
