Even as it was busy trying to convince Shriniwas Patil to contest from the Satara Lok Sabha seat, the NCP(SP) on Thursday announced the names of two more candidates, one from the disputed Bhiwandi seat and another from Beed.

The NCP has fielded Suresh Mhatre from Bhiwandi and Bajrang Sonawane from Beed. Sonawane will take on Pankaja Munde of the BJP in Beed while Mhatre will face a challenge from sitting MP Kapil Patil of the BJP.

The Bhiwandi seat had sparked a tug-of-war between the Congress and the NCP. The Maha Vikas Aghadi partners had a long discussion over Bhiwandi and Sangli seats on Thursday.
