Flier disappointed with Alliance Air’s handling of flight cancellation; airline yet to respond

Assured of a full refund by Alliance Air, the flier opted for a ticket with another airline for Rs 7,390.

A flier has voiced her grievances regarding Alliance Air’s handling of a flight cancellation, which she said resulted in financial loss and inconvenience.

According to the user @p_a_r_i_s__k_i_d, the boarding process for a Bengaluru to Kochi flight on March 24 did not commence as scheduled, leading to confusion among passengers. In her post, she said on Instagram, “One hour passed. All the passengers started questioning.. Why didn’t boarding start yet ??There was no proper response from your staff… when all the passengers raised their voices, they only told us that alliance air canceled due to technical fault and customers can book another flight.”

Assured of a full refund, she opted for a ticket with another airline. However, amidst the chaos, conflicting statements emerged from Alliance Air staff. “They said that the full amount of this ticket will be refunded. By trusting the staff words I booked a new ticket with indigo airline which cost 7390 and one of the other staff of alliance airline came and said alternative flight is working and no refund for the ticket.” she added.

Feeling misled and left with no choice, the customer proceeded with the booking, only to discover that an alternative flight was available. This miscommunication resulted in unnecessary financial burdens and wasted time for the affected passengers.

The customer expressed her dismay and emphasised the lack of accountability and transparency in Alliance Air’s operations. She demanded a refund for the additional booking and compensation for the inconvenience she faced.

Tagging the authorities concerned, she said, “Because of them I had lost my precious hours and money. *Its not a simple matter* & I am not satisfied with the service of alliance air..it took an hour to take off after arranging alternative flight . ls this the right way to treat customers ??. So bad…so disgusting. I want justice @jyotiradityascindia @bangalore_airport @dgcaofficial @iata_official @icaonacc @consumeraffairs_goi @consumerreports@moca_goi @aaiofficial.”

She also used hashtags such as “#justice #flight #bangalore #kochi #instagram,” to make everyone aware of the inefficient services by Alliance Airline.

Alliance Air has not yet acknowledged the incident. The issue has sparked discussions among users and frequent fliers regarding the importance of consumer rights and the accountability of airline companies.

One user wrote, “It happened to me on 25th morning 7am flight informed after I reached the airport at 5am.. lost 15k.”

Another added, “Never believe Alliance air. They cancel their flights any where any time and don’t process refunds.” A third user suggested, “Would recommend to give a complaint on the dgca website which is been made to file any complaint or grievance etc.”

“@p_a_r_i_s__k_i_d file a official complaint with DGCA with all the proof and confirmation of new ticket purchased at the airport. They will investigate with help of airport authorities and will take necessary action,” a fourth user said.
